Layered Oreo Dessert = NOMbelievable


It was the husband's birthday last week, and instead of making a cake, I decided that it would be much more fun to make a layered fridge dessert. He really loves Oreos, so after a bit of Pinteresting, I found several variations on this insanely good treat.


Since it was just going to be the four of us indulging in this devilry, I wanted to make the dessert in an 8x8 pan, rather than the 9x13 that I kept finding instructions for. It was very easy to modify the recipe, so now you can make a smaller version for family dessert nights, or, you know, for yourself as you marathon Orange is the New Black.


Layered Oreo Fridge Dessert

26 Oreo cookies
4 Tbs. butter, melted
1 8oz. package cream cheese, room temperature
3/4 c. powdered sugar
1 tub whipped topping, thawed in the fridge
1 box instant vanilla pudding mix
1 1/4 c. cold milk

Place the Oreos into a Ziplock bag and crush with a rolling pin (or, in the case of my children, your husband's sandals). Dump them into a bowl and mix with melted butter. Push cookies into the bottom of an 8x8 baking dish.

Prepare the cream cheese layer. Whip room temperature cream cheese together with powdered sugar and 1 cup of whipped topping. Spread mixture over cookie layer.

Prepare the instant pudding. Beat cold milk into pudding mix until thickened (you can also follow the instructions on your package of instant pudding - use the method for pie filling). Pour and spread over cream cheese layer.

Top with remaining whipped topping and more Oreo crumbs.

Put it in yo fridge to set, then put it in yo mouth.
